ZUR2 data center has become the first company in Switzerland to be awarded the prestigious Gold+ certification from the Swiss Datacenter Efficiency Association (SDEA). This significant achievement was made possible by Northshore’s own Erin Rowe, PE, LEED AP, in partnership with Digital Realty.
Digital Realty’s data centers in Glattbrugg, ZUR1 and ZUR2, successfully underwent a rigorous certification process conducted by the SDEA, an association that recognizes organizations demonstrating exceptional sustainability and ecological standards. Both facilities were acknowledged for their outstanding energy efficiency and minimal carbon footprint.
The ZUR1 data center, operational for over 24 years, was awarded the Silver+ certification, recognizing its decades of excellence, innovation, and continuous infrastructure improvements. Meanwhile, the Gold+ certification for ZUR2, which opened in 2020, reflects the company’s cutting-edge approach to sustainability and efficiency in the data center sector.
At Northshore, we’re proud to be at the forefront of driving sustainable solutions like these. Our team’s commitment to energy-efficient practices continues to set new standards for the industry. Together, we’re paving the way for a greener future for the digital infrastructure space.
