Inside the Culture That Powers Our Progress: How Our Onshores Navigate the Future

At Northshore, we find our most powerful ideas don’t come to fruition without collaboration. It’s important that we prioritize making time for our teams to come together, have meaningful conversations and build genuine relationships, whether it’s on a hike, on the water, or over a pint.

We refer to our annual in-person meetings and working sessions as “Onshores.”

Across multiple countries and teams, we have been coming together in smaller groups. Not to simply check-in, but to collaborate to move forward.

Here is a look at the progress made at Onshores this year.

The Technology Team Onshore

Set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Superior, our Technology team had its first ever full team gathering. With new faces seeing the Great Lakes for the first time and shared meals that tasted like home.

The team used the Onshore to shift from a deep work phase into a new cycle of building and experimentation.

Highlights:

  • Furthering the development of tools focused on sustainability insights and lifecycle analytics
  • Creating demos to help everyone at Northshore, and our partners better understand Seastack

And yes, there was a pit stop at Split Rock Lighthouse (for inspiration) and the North Shore Winery (for balance).

The EMEA E&C Onshore

In leafy Hampstead, London, the EMEA Engineering & Construction team dove into everything from liquid cooling trends, to attending an excellent seminar. A single client conversation helped us set sail on a new project focused on liquid cooling and a workshop turned into concrete growth initiatives for the team.

As the tide wound down, the team bonded over amazing BBQ and round of nine-darter.

The Sustainability Onshore

From VR training sessions to taking an electric canal boat ride, anchoring the day with a sunset beach dinner, the Sustainability team blended continuous learning with engaging experiences.

There were thoughtful presentations on energy constraints and emerging tech, but also time to connect, recharge, and reflect.

The Data and Analytics Onshore

In Dublin, the Data and Analytics team opened their Onshore with a guided meditation and a hike along the Irish coast, a quiet yet powerful start that set the tone for a focused and future facing few days.

Highlights:

  • Strategy sessions inside one of our client’s data center boardrooms
  • A full site tour with their facilities team
  • A cultural crash course via the Guinness Storehouse and a night cheering on Shamrock Rovers

These Onshores remind us that progress isn’t just about what we build, but how we build it together. Onshores are the next wave of new beginnings.

The Northshore Way

Each of these Onshores looked and felt different, as they should. They’re shaped by the teams, the work, and the moment. But they all reflect the same foundation:

  • Designing for scale, sustainability, and simplicity
  • Being climate-led, tech-enabled, and commercially minded
  • Going further with a collective vision in mind.

We dedicate ourselves to Onshores because they ensure every voice is heard so we can build boldly, move forward together, and shape a more sustainable future as one. Together, we chart the course.
